1. IELTS test in the UK and Italy – March 2014 (Academic Module)

The IELTS exam update below was shared by test takers S, A and E, from the UK and Italy (apparently the tests were the same in these countries):

Listening test

Section 1. A phone conversation with a man complaining about his flight.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Section 2. A meeting of a cultural event representative with journalists.

Section 3. Don’t remember.

Section 4. About the results of an archeological excavation in Egypt and discussion of findings.

Reading test

Passage 1. About a protein that might stop muscular waste and various treatment methods regarding that.

Passage 2. About the transport in villages of Nepal.

Passage 3. Comparison of woodlands and forests in Great Britain in the Ice age and nowadays.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given a bar graph showing the main reasons (in percentages) for students to choose a particular UK university between 1985 and 2005.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some say old people should continue to work, if their condition allows them to do so. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

2. IELTS test in Australia and Indonesia – March 2014 (Academic Module)

We were given two diagrams to compare. One was the current plan of a university and the other was a future project plan for 2015.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Living in big cities has a negative effect on people’s health. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Thẳng thắn mà nói, sở dĩ mình chọn post 2 đề thi này vì nó là những đề thi còn khá mới, chắc chắn sẽ giúp ích cho mọi người trong việc nắm bắt cấu trúc cũng như cách ra đề thi IELTS ở một số quốc gia. Điều quan trọng là sử dụng những đề thi này như những bài tập tự luyện phục vụ cho quá trình ôn thi.
